Dear Family,
What a week it's been. and this time, it hasn't been raining- it's
been snowing. It's been full of tender mercies, again. On monday, we
went to deseret book for supplies (I ran out of journal space) and as
we were in line to check out a woman stepped forward and bought all of
our supplies for us. This woman had been watching us the minute we had
stepped in the store, in which we were completly unaware of. The same
woman had a son who was about to serve a mission himself. She said
something to the affect of that if you take care of the missionaries
in your area, that your own children will be taken care of wherever
they will be.
All this week, it's been snowing off and on with dramatic weather
changes. Teusday evening, we were pretty much in the middle of nowhere
for a dinner appointment at a deaf member's house. The drive there was
dark and the roads were narrow and windy, we had gotten lost a couple
times trying to find the right street. I geuss during dinner it had
started up snowing again, hard. The couple we had dinner with went out
to check the roads and they were covered with black ice and inches of
snow. We ended up being stuck there for the night after some
arrangments had been made with our leaders- they had called the
highest mission leader and they thought it was another set of elders
who had gotten stuck at first, not us. They thought it was pretty
funny. What a crazy adventure! Stuck at a deaf members house in the
middle of nowhere- I'm so happy I know how to sign now. You know the
best part, earlier that day we went to the temple with our district
and had been told to plan on being prepared if we were stuck where the
temple was. Because of this counsel, we were prepared for a later
event that happend that day. We now have emergancy kits because of
this event. I'm learning it's better to be prepared now then to
wait-In tying this experiance in with the gospel principal, it reminds
me a bit of repentence and why it's so important that we repent now
instead of later. We don't know the hour that he will come again, or
the time but we do know the blessings that come from being obediant
and following a prophet's council.
I love all of you! Sister Embley
